Cheetah Kill.jpg
In September 2016 I visited the Mara Triangle in Kenya. This was my first visit to East Africa. I was amazed by the predatory activity surrounding the great migration of wildebeest. But I was soon reminded that the great migration is so much more than wildebeest and this beautifull spectacle. On an afternoon drive I came across a cheetah hunting Oribi as it was running towards the vehicle. I only had a few moments to capture the scene, and because of the darker conditions and my shutter speed of 1/100, the image resembled a slow shutter scene with the blurry paws of the cheetah on the Oribi. I was very happy to see the typical Maasai Mara environment in the background, as some of the surrounding flora was included in the frame. A Selection of African land predators from countries including Kenya, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
